Roll-A-Shade’s special shade fabric has characteristics that go beyond solar shading alone. It is also anti-tear, rot-proof, fire-retardant and anti-bacterial.
FIRE-RETARDANT FABRIC
Roll-A-Shade’s interior and exterior fabrics are made of fiberglass or vinyl-coated polyester, then treated with a fire retardant coating to meet the following Fire Classifications:
- California U.S. Title 19 (Small Scale)
- NFPA 701-1999 TM#1 (Small Scale)
- NFPA 101 (Class A Rating)
- UBC (Class 1)
- British Standard 5867
- NFPA 701 TM#2 (Large Scale)
- CAN/ULC S109-M-87
ANTI-BACTERIAL SHADE FABRIC
The Microban® antimicrobial protection works continuously for the lifetime of the shade to inhibit the growth of stain-causing bacteria, mold and mildew. This makes our fabrics ideal for any commercial or residential environment where microbes are a concern including: Restaurants, Hospitality, Healthcare, Home and Office, Schools and Institutions.
Independent laboratories have tested our shade fabric materials to assure that they are less toxic than burning wood, wool or cotton and have no measurable VOC’s (volatile organic compounds).
